Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Research

Operation Simulation Associates conducts research on the manufacture of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) in the OSA pilot plant and laboratory. AAC is a lightweight concrete product with outstanding insulation value and fire rating. The OSA pilot plant was designed to research and conduct pilot manufacturing runs of AAC products using coal power plant ash as a raw material in place of the sand used in most AAC production plants. The use of ash reduces AAC production costs, improves product performance, and makes beneficial use of a waste material. OSA has participated in the development of AAC patents for processes using coal ash in AAC production.
